What to look for
Shehan makes Kat and Sybil’s closeness visible through posture, proximity and the spaces around them. Start with their enclosed journey toward Comfort Notch, then compare it with the town’s more open, apparently welcoming scenes. Their relationship remains the anchor. That physical familiarity helps the folk horror feel like a threat to particular people rather than simply a beautiful setting turning sinister.
