A closer look · Our reading of the work
What to look for
In Gideon Falls, a small fragment can become the shape organizing an entire page. Sorrentino uses circles, repetition and fractured images to make attention feel unstable. You may understand each individual panel while losing your bearings in the larger arrangement. Follow the intended route with your eye, then step back: those two ways of reading do not always produce the same sense of space.
