A closer look · Our reading of the work
Look at Bode’s luminous ghost against the muted wood and stone of Keyhouse. Fotos makes the transformation immediately readable without erasing the solidity of the building around it. Compare the supernatural light with the more ordinary family scenes. The contrast helps a discovery feel wondrous and unsettling at once, keeping the house’s promise of escape tied to its potential danger.
