What to look for
In the opening volume of Something Is Killing the Children, compare the ordinary interiors with the scenes where darkness limits what can be seen. Read for shifts in warmth and visibility rather than only for the monster. Muerto’s color works alongside Dell’Edera’s use of distance: a recognizable room can still feel exposing when a child seems alone within it.
