A closer look · Our reading of the work
What to look for
Something Is Killing the Children depends on conversations where one person knows far more than another. Follow how the balloons lead you through Erica and James’s exchanges, and notice the room left around a difficult admission. The lettering gives the dialogue a readable sequence while the art holds onto uncertainty. A conversation can move clearly even when neither the child nor the reader feels secure.
