A closer look · Our reading of the work
What to look for
Something Is Killing the Children makes Erica compelling partly through James’s need to be believed. Tynion keeps returning the investigation to people who are missing and those left behind. Watch what happens when a mark on a map becomes someone’s sister. That movement from pattern to person keeps the mythology from swallowing the emotional stakes of the opening volume.
