What to look for
In The Me You Love in the Dark, follow the balloons through Ro’s conversations and notice where the page gives a response room to land. Dialogue has to coexist with a house whose spaces carry much of the mood. Reading for lettering makes the balance clearer: words direct attention, but an unfilled stretch of a panel can keep a presence mysterious.
