What to look for
The fear in Wytches is anchored in a father who does not always know how to help his daughter. Snyder lets affection and inadequacy sit together, so the family bond does more than provide an excuse for danger. Follow the moments when Charlie tries to reassure Sailor: the gap between wanting to protect someone and understanding them gives the creatures their emotional leverage.
